Deslorelin as inductor of ovulation in bos taurus x bos indicus after previous exposure to intravaginal progesterone

چکیده
This study aimed to assess the efficiency of deslorelin at inducing ovulation in crossbred cows previously exposed to intravaginal progesterone (P4). A total of 43 cows (Bos taurus × Bos indicus) were randomly divided into two groups, G1 (treated, n = 25) and G2 (control, n = 18). Both groups received an identical hormone protocol from day (D) 0 to D8: D0 = intravaginal P4 + estradiol benzoate (2 mg) and D8 = P4 removal + cloprostenol (500 μg) + 400 IU of equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) + ovarian ultrasonography. The ovaries were scanned on D9. On D10, G1 received deslorelin [150 mg, intramuscularly (IM)] and G2 no treatment. The ovaries were examined ultrasonographically at 6-h intervals until ovulation on D15. The ovulation rates in G1 and G2 were 100.0 and 73.3% (p < 0.05) and the intervals between deslorelin application and ovulation was 22.3 ± 7.6 and 33.3 ± 5.3 h (p < 0.05), respectively. In conclusion, intramuscular administration of deslorelin effectively induced ovulation in cows previously treated with progesterone; deslorelin promoted ovulation within 22.3 h of its administration.

The Effect of GnRH vs No-GnRH at the Initiation of a 7-d CIDR Synchronization Treatment on AI Pregnancy Rates in Postpartum Lactating Angus and Bos indicus x Bos taurus Cows1,2
Bos indicus x Bos taurus (n=251) and Angus (n=323) cows received a progesterone containing device called an Eazi-BreedTM CIDR® for 7 d with a prostaglandinF2a (PGF2a) injection at CIDR removal. At CIDR insertion half the cows received a GnRH injection and half did not. Upon CIDR removal, half the cows in both GnRH and No-GnRH groups were equally divided into two AI treatment groups: 1) injectio...

Based on the considerable differences in ovarian morphology and function, as well as circulating hormones and metabolites between Bos indicus (B. indicus) and Bos taurus (B. taurus), researchers are using this acquired knowledge to optimize protocols for fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI), and production of in vivo derived embryos by multiple ovulation or by in vitro embryo production (I...

On d 0 of the experiment Bos indicus x Bos taurus (n=130) cows received an injection of GnRH and a progesterone-releasing device called an Eazi-BreedTM CIDR® for 7 d with a prostaglandin F2a injection at CIDR removal. Upon CIDR removal cows were divided into two AI treatments: 1) injection of estradiol cypionate (ECP) 24 h after CIDR removal with AI 8 to 10 h after a detected estrus and timed-A...

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) is a fatal infectious neurodegenerative disease in cattle, characterized by the accumulation of an abnormal, proteaseresistant prion protein (PrPSc) in the brain. BSE is similar to scrapie in sheep and goats and Creuzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans. Susceptibility in cattle hasbeen shown to be under the influence of two polymorphic locations, which are...
